Winter Soundwalk: Rogue World Music will present their second annual Winter Soundwalk featuring music from cultures around the world relating to the winter season as it guides listeners through the festive downtown Ashland cityscape along a set path of visual installations through Friday, Jan 6. This SoundWalk lasts approximately 40 minutes and is no more than 0.5 miles long. ‘Windows in Time’ local history lecture: As part of the free “Windows in Time” lecture series, Jan Wright, Southern Oregon Historical Society Archivist, will present “Wayward Girls of the Rogue Valley” at noon Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. Jackson County has had its share of incorrigible girls. Brine, Brew & Barrel Fest: The Brine, Brew & Barrel fermentation festival will be held Friday through Sunday, Jan. 13-15, at the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites, 2525 Ashland St., Ashland. The festival celebrates the multi-cultural culinary tradition of fermented products including pickles, krauts, kombucha, beer, wine, cider, mead, chocolate, cheese, coffee, sourdough, and everything in between.
