The late Curt Flood laid the foundation for players in all sports to have a say in the trading process.

After being traded to the Phillies - a team with a reputation for discrimination - Curt fought back and sued Bowie Kuhn, head of the MLB.

It was a long road, and although Curt's life was a rocky one, frought with legal troubles, alcoholism, and exclusion, his legacy lives on in every sport conceivable.
