JWYTYKE: Dead Indian Memorial Road
Dead Indian Memorial road is a contested landmark in the Southern Oregon region. It was named for the slaughter of a local tribe in the Cow Creek region and to this day is highly debated on the sensitivity of it's name. Local tribes are split claiming it's a nod to the oppression and heritage natives still suffer to this day while others find it humiliating and degrading.
